About

Liam Freeman is a features writer and creative director. Their work has appeared internationally in titles including CNN, Dazed, Esquire, Financial Times, i-D, New York Magazine, The New York Times, The Sunday Times and Vogue, where they were formerly a Senior Features Editor.

Their work spans arts and culture, fashion and travel, as well as sustainability, technology, health, and global social issues. Drawing on international reporting and primary research across all seven continents, it centres on people and the planet.

Increasingly, they shoot their own stories alongside writing, and have chaired live panels and conversations with Andrew Bolton, Curator in Charge of The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute, at the Sarabande Foundation, and Omoyemi Akerele, founder of Lagos Fashion Week, at the UN’s SheTrades Conference.

They also collaborate with luxury brands and cultural organisations on research, storytelling, copy direction, ESG (environmental, social and governance) communications, and creative and editorial strategy, contributing to projects for Aēsop, Bottega Veneta, Chloé, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Google Arts & Culture, Mercedes-Benz and Toteme.

With a background in dance, they are a trustee of Studio Wayne McGregor, the interdisciplinary company founded by Royal Ballet Resident Choreographer Sir Wayne McGregor.

Liam is currently developing fiction, documentary and narrative non-fiction projects across film and publishing, exploring gender, environment, human rights and artistic practice.
